The 6th International Conference on Theory of Atomic and Molecular Clusters (TAMC VI-UNAM) will take place in Mexico City, from the 13th to the 17th of June, 2010. The Confrence is organized by the Materials Research Institute , of the Autonomous University of Mexico City. It suceeds symposia held in Leer (Germany, 1993), Wisconsin (USA 1995), Berlin (Germany, 1999), Toulouse (France 2004) and Richmond (USA 2007). The scope of the conference is focus primarily on the progress on theoretical methods, concepts and applications to timely experiments in cluster research: free and supported clusters, clusters on surfaces, cluster-assemblies, nanostructures, and applications of clusters in biological systems. As previous editions, it should provide an open discussion forum on current problems, future developments and new trends in the thoery of clusters, nanoparticles and nanostructures.

Topical areas:

The organzing committee has selected a wide range of current topics for TAMC VI-UNAM. The program includes around 40 invited talks, 12 contributed talks, a poster session and two round table forums. Topical areas of the program include:

Molecular modeling using many body potentials, genetic algorithms.

Developments in electronic structure schemes such as hybrid DFT, order N, Quantum Montecarlo and their applications to the study o the electeronic structure of clusters and nanostructures.

Magnetic properties, molecular magnetism including spin relaxation and magnetic deflagration in nanomagnets.

Thermal properties and phase transitions.

Reactivity, nanocatalysis and fragmentation.

Spectrosocopy and dynamics at ultra fast pulses.

Electronic transport, molecular electronics.

Optical porperties, light induced charge transport.

Cluster-assembled materials, self assembly of clusters, solvated and supported clusters.

Nanoparticles in Biology and Medicine, protein folding, drug delivery, biological functions.
